Description

Design and conduct program for children ages 3 - 10 at various park locations in Plymouth. Activities include crafts, games, sports, playground time, staff led activities and field trips.

  • Programs include:
    • Pre-K Little Adventures Program: Tuesday - Thursday, 9:30AM - 11:30AM, Plymouth Community Center
    • All Day Playground Program: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM at Bass Lake Playfield, Parkers Lake Park, Zachary Playfield, Plymouth Community Center, and Plymouth Creek Playfield
  • Part-time/day-time hours, 10 - 40 hours/week, shifts vary.

Under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Manager, Recreation Supervisors and Coordinators, the Playground Lead position will enhance the quality of life for all residents and to foster individual and community in all aspects of physical, mental, social and environmental through recreational opportunities.

Essential Functions

  • Plan, organize and direct activities for all ages in a recreation setting.
  • Provide support as needed for all participants and staff to create an inclusive environment.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure quality programs for all ages.
  • Follow staff policies and procedures; ensure all staff and participants follow the established policies and procedures.
  • Provide a safe, fun and appropriate experience of all participants.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older on program start date
  • Must enjoy working with young children
  • Previous experience leading children’s activities.
