Shift Requirements
1st ShiftABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
- Process Technicians are responsible for maintaining and improving all the plastic processes. This includes
- troubleshooting extrusion and converting processes, resin variables, and maximizing efficiency of all operations.
- Identify and correct extrusion issues.
- Perform/assist with extrusion setups.
- Train how to identify and correct extrusion issues.
- Train how to perform extrusion setups.
- Improve machine efficiency via up-time and optimization.
- Troubleshoot processing defects.
- Identify and correct converting issues.
- Perform and assist with converting setups.
- Train how to identify and correct converting issues.
- Use basic electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical fundamentals.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment and devices that are
- required.
- Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement; is expected to promote and sustain any and all CI and 5S
- activities.
- Previous pipe, tube or sheet extrusion processing experience is desired
- An understanding of material conveying systems, extruder functions and plastic conveying through the extruder is desired
- Previous extrusion tooling and melt pump experience is a plus
- History of creating, recording and utilizing in-process or setup documentation is desired
- Experience training others is desired
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or Equivalent
High School Diploma or Equivalent
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The classification level will be determined by the training completed per the training matrix.
- Must be qualified to operate a forklift.
- Must be trained in LOTO.
- Must complete man lift training.
- Demonstrate basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
