How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The Plant Operator 1 is responsible for safety, product quality, and productivity during the work shift. Duties may include sorting cylinders according to cylinder size and service, scrape, paint and label cylinders, maintain organization in the cylinder yard, move cylinders by forklift and/or handcart within the facility. Inspect and prepare high and low pressure cylinders for the filling process, perform required maintenance on cylinders. Load and unload common carrier trucks and Airgas shuttle trucks. The Plant Operator 1 must also be able to assist with basic shipping and receiving functions including all required documentation and labeling for compliance with DOT regulations.

Sort and evaluate incoming gas cylinders.

Move cylinders to designated processing areas.

Scrape, label and painting of cylinders.

Perform visual Inspection of gas cylinders.

Maintain the cylinder yard in a clean and orderly manner. Stores cylinders in designated locations by service, cylinder size and valve type.

Perform valve and cylinder inventory.

Qualify to operate forklift and perform forklift inspection.

Loading compressed gas cylinders onto and off of cylinder pallets.

Load and unload common carrier trucks and Airgas shuttles.

Reconcile receiving paperwork with cylinders received.

Ensure all shipping documentation matches outgoing cylinders.

Ensure cylinders are shipped in a neat and presentable condition.

Basic Knowledge of CFR 49.

Understanding Special Permits.

Keep a clean and orderly work area at all times.

Basic computer operators for data entry and training.

Support Management team with regard to Health & Safety and ISO Quality programs.

Other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Aptitude for high precision work.

Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) or equivalent software.

Achieve HM126 qualification

Ability to read pressure and temperature indicators.

Ability to connect and disconnect filling lines.

Ability to move gas cylinders using forklifts, pallet jacks and cylinder carts.

Work in a team environment, be reliable, follow directions and coordinate efforts with multiple departments.

Ability to work all shifts; subject to all weather conditions.
