Western Midstream is a master limited partnership formed to own, develop, acquire, and operate midstream assets. We are engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing, and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, and disposing of produced water for our customers.
We operate or own equity interests in assets in the Rocky Mountains, North-central Pennsylvania, and Texas, including approximately 16,000 miles of petroleum and natural gas pipelines and over 100 gathering, treating, and processing facilities.
Plant Operator-Maverick Basin Plant Operations
This position is located in the South Texas Region as a member of the Plant Operations team in Cotulla, TX working for Midstream Plant Operations.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to and enforce all applicable company, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations
- Execute startup, shut down and operating procedures for compressors, furnaces, distillation towers, expanders, electric motors, fans, pumps, instrumentation, valves and alarms
- Analyze flow streams using a gas chromatograph and make necessary process adjustments to maintain product specifications
- Perform minor maintenance of compressors, engines, pumps, controls, piping and valves
- Generate daily production reports including liquid production, downtime and gas volumes
- Test product samples and make adjustments to preserve product quality and proper specifications
- Coordinate and oversee the transfer of liquid products into pipelines and trucks as necessary.
- Prepare maintenance notifications to keep maintenance personnel informed of problem areas
- Complete assigned reports and logs
- Work outside in variable environmental conditions around heavy equipment
Qualifications
- One year experience working in an oil and gas production facility required
- Basic understanding of oil and gas operations
- Working knowledge of natural gas process equipment
- Computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Grade and salary will be commensurate with relevant education and experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle.
Travel Requirements
The percentage of travel required for this position is 0 – 10%.
Work Schedule
This is a rotational 12 hour day/night shift requiring weekends, evenings, and holiday coverage. This position covers 24 hour operations and must be available for 24/7 on call. Candidate must live within 85 miles of Cotulla, TX.
