Currently seeking a Plant General Manager to work locally within Winona, Mississippi.

Please note- We are willing to potentially bring on someone with Assistant Plant Management experience and offer training for the right candidate.

The rate of pay for this position is depending on experience between $90k-$130k or potentially higher depending on experience.

The schedule is Monday-Friday with heavy overtime. (Potentially 40-60 hour weeks)

Plant Manager Summary: Directs and coordinates activities of industrial organization to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans, develops and implements organization policies and goals.
  • Coordinates activities of divisions or departments such as operating, manufacturing, engineering, planning, and sales, maintenance, or research and development, to effect operational efficiency and economy.
  • Directs and coordinates promotion of products manufactured or services performed to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry.
  • Analyzes division or department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made, and allocates operating budget. P&L oversight.
  • Confers with administrative personnel and reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required.
  • Directs preparation of directives to division or department administrator outlining policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented.
  • Promotes organization in industry, manufacturing or trade associations.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of businesses and departments concerned with the production, pricing, sales, customer service and distribution of products.
  • Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties.
  • Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
  • Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with staff members as necessary.
  • Determine staffing requirements, interview, hire and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processes.
  • Oversee activities directly related to production.
  • Direct and coordinate organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.
  • Manages various subordinate supervisors who supervise approximately 20-30 employees in Production, Purchasing, Sales, Human Resources and Engineering. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs work flows and procedures.
  • Generates creative solutions; Uses feedback to modify designs; Demonstrates attention to detail.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Completes projects on time and budget.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Heavy background in steel manufacturing.
  • Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access), and A/S 400 Mainframe systems.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be willing to submit to a drug screen.
  • Some travel is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
