The McCain Food’s facility in Plover, Wisconsin is a food processing plant, employing approximately 270 employees. This site specializes in the production of cheese curds and other specialty appetizers. Fun Fact: The Plover facility makes appetizers for Burger King, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Arby’s, just to name a few!

Position Summary:

The Plant Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the site maintenance department, utilities/ PSM program, ISO14001 environmental program in addition to optimizing plant operations by developing, preparing, and executing multi-year capital improvement plan.

  • Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment. Understands maintenance reliability. Can apply correct maintenance strategy to maintain the highest asset reliability at a reasonable, approved cost.


Essential Functions

  • Keep safety at the forefront of all tasks
  • Lead and develop the maintenance team
  • Develop strategic improvement plan
  • Ensure proper training for employees
  • Promote and develop maintenance programs
  • Support Line Centric teams
  • Ensure that work execution is optimized
  • Optimize preventative maintenance program
  • Develop condition inspection and predictive inspection program
  • Utilize KPI’s as lagging and leading metrics to evaluate progress
  • Review downtime and apply root cause and preventative actions
  • Develop Plant multi-year capital plan with key Stakeholders that includes:
  • Addressing safety, environmental and food safety risks
  • Provide technical and plant input and support for corporate projects
  • Always maintains confidentiality
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Manager


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a four-year degree in Engineering
  • Eight years in a Maintenance/Engineering role with a minimum of two years in a management role
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions both written and oral
  • Full understanding of Packaging and Processing equipment, Ammonia refrigeration, Wastewater treatment, Industrial electricity, General mechanical, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Industrial burners, HVAC, Programmable controllers, Industrial safety, Food plant maintenance.


Physical Demand:
Constant: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
Frequently: Bending, grasping of hands, walking
