Position Summary:

The Plant and Manufacturing Production Supervisor will lead a Manufacturing Team of Technicians to meet company goals related to safety, quality, daily production targets, labor efficiency, and continuous improvement. The Plant and Manufacturing Production Supervisor will participate in production and troubleshooting activities to resolve quality issues and improve build-to-schedule performance through excellent prioritization skills including efficient planning that ensures On Time Delivery goals are sustained. Excellent communication and positive personnel leadership skills, as well as mechanical/technical aptitude to promote safe and efficient operation, are required for success. The Second Shift Plant and Manufacturing Production Supervisor is also responsible for overall facility security and safety of all swing shift employees.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a working knowledge of the processes; participate in the production, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Assure SOPs are complete, accurate, and adhered to.
  • Working with Mfg. Engineering ensures Quality (OBQ and MTBF) goals are maintained.
    • Provide routine audits of work-in-process within the department to assure accuracy and correct methodology.
  • Direct production team and ensure that daily production goals are met by monitoring and managing daily situations.
  • Prioritize production goals and improve efficiency via Coordinating with Scheduling, Engineering, Materials, and Quality
  • Display technical and personnel leadership skills; act as a role model, maintain morale, and good communication.
  • Coach, mentor, and lead Manufacturing Team Leads in their development to improve team leadership.
  • Lead and direct Manufacturing Personnel to improve individual and team quality and operational efficiency performance through empowerment and accountability.
    • Monitor performance of employees against established manufacturing standards, quality standards, and timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Function as an extension of management and conducts themselves to that code.
  • Assure production team adherence to all related company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Collaborate with other cross-functional groups to resolve Quality Issues and improve Process reliability to minimize line downtime:
    • Proactively seek solutions to prevent/recover line-down situations.
    • Proactively seek corrective actions to quality or process issues that affect Operational Efficiency.
  • Be a steward of the cross-training program by:
    • Using Cross Training Matrix ensure training meets operational and individual needs.
    • Implement and maintain documentation to ensure proper training is completed in a timely manner.
    • Ensure Training/Operation rotation is implemented.
    • Ensure ECO based training is completed and documented in a timely manner.
  • Promote timely MRB Processing:
    • Ensure NCMR’s are generated immediately after material is rejected.
    • Coordinate NCMR’s be dispositioned within 24 hrs.
    • Ensure Disposition-approved material is processed in a timely manner.
    • Develop and maintain MRB process management metric.
  • Manage and direct inventory cycle count management tasks.
  • Lead the manufacturing team to Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing practices such as the 5S program, Visual Factory, etc.
  • Write, update, and review documentation needed for operations to include training manuals, Work Instructions, and other production support documents (SOPs, compliance, and regulatory documents)
  • Ensure transactional excellence in raw material and finished product ERP transactions.
  • Oversee finished manufacturing records for completeness and proper procedure.
  • Assist in all regulatory compliance programs and documentation practices to support Production Quality Systems
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibrations are performed on production equipment and tools.
  • Compile and present monthly metrics as assigned.
  • Lead and support company EPIC values
  • Coordinate with contract security for building employee safety/emergency situations.
  • Maintain building lockdown safety.
  • Ensure all members are trained and working in a safe manner. Continuous monitoring for unsafe acts, maintenance concerns, slip/trip/ fall concerns.
  • Responsible to maintain a safe and secure environment for our employees by actively monitoring the premises.
  • Responsible for managing others, handling any potential workplace violence incidents, safety incidents and building evacuations.
  • Help direct employees with policy questions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education , Experience, Knowledge, Skills

  • Associates Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience required, or 3 years as a production team lead.
  • 2 years of progressive supervisory experience preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment, performing assembly procedures, and deeply familiar with workflows.
  • Demonstrated training in leadership and supervisory skills preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ISO9001 and/or regulatory compliance requirements
  • Continuous improvement training and experience highly desirable (Lean/ Six Sigma)
  • Excellent communication skills (proficient in English)
  • Working competency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and other analytical software tools.
