We're looking for a Pharmacy Technician 3 to join our PharmScript team within our Floor Technician department. As a Pharmacy Technician 3, you’ll support the on-site pharmacist to prepare prescription orders for facilities. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that pharmacy standards are maintained, policies are carried out and objectives are accomplished.
The ideal candidate is a people person who enjoys troubleshooting and resolving problems and is dedicated to helping customers. For you, no task feels too small and no challenge impossible. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:

Assisting the Pharmacist with proper labeling and filling prescriptions
*

  • Accurately preparing prescriptions under the Pharmacist’s supervision
  • Packaging Rx labels with an in-depth understanding of Framework system
  • Packaging medications in bottles or bingo cards for dispensing and for delivery
  • Restocking and organizing the pharmacy shelves (Drugs, supplies, etc.)
  • Removing out of date items from inventory/shelves
  • Refilling offsite inventory boxes with emergency medications.
  • Comprehensive operation of pharmacy automation (Accuflex, Dosis, E2, etc.)
  • Replenishing Tharo and Zebra labels and maintaining other various pharmacy equipment
  • Full operation of an MTS350 machine to be able to efficiently prepack medications
  • Properly partially fill orders if we do not have the full quantity in stock
  • Properly package up medications in multi-dose blister cards or vials for patients who are discharging or going out on leave from the nursing home
  • Properly handle and package medications deemed hazardous drugs in accordance with USP800
  • Restock different off-site inventory technology (Cubex, Omnicell, Nexsys machines)
  • Properly use a Bullseye tablet splitter for splitting pills in bulk quantities
  • Receive drug products through Pharmscript’s inventory management application
  • Comprehensive duties that are required when dealing with narcotics, including but not limited to: prepacking, labeling, packaging, returning to stock, maintaining Pharmscript’s perpetual narcotic inventory application
  • Non-sterile Compounding of medications (Creams/Ointments/Suspensions)
  • Other duties set by management.

Qualifications:Qualifications:*

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Registered technician or certfication required in applicable state
  • National technician certification is required through either PTCB or another nationally recognized program
  • 2-3 years or more of Long Term Care or Retail pharmacy experience preferred but not necessary
  • Able to work independently as well as in a diverse, team environment
  • Able to stand on feet for 8 hours
  • Able to effectively demonstrate all Pharmacy Technician 2 competencies
