Your day.

As an Outpatient Pharmacist you need to know how to:

• Accurately dispense prescription medications and review patient’s medication order for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness of drug therapy, and drug-drug interaction
• Make appropriate evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use and ensure safe, appropriate, cost effective medication therapies for SCL Health patients
• Provide counseling to patients and promote quality medication education and adherence
• Supervise and direct activities of interns, technicians, and support personnel as required
• Provide medication related clinical consultation and clarification to other health professionals
• Participate in the evaluation and selection of formulary medications
• Prepare clinical care plans and participate in patient care rounds where appropriate
• Consult with members of the medical staff on orders for non-formulary drugs to offer formulary alternatives when possible

Your experience.

We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:

• Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy with a five-year Bachelor of Science Degree or Pharm D
• Current licensure by the state of practice in Pharmacy
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Pharmacist

Preferred:

• Previous specialty pharmacy experience
• Completion of Pharmacy residency
• Board certification in pharmacy practice or other recognized BPS specialty
• BCLS and ACLS certifications
• MTM (Medication Therapy Management) certification
