Under the direction of the Fitness Director, Personal Trainers will work with a diverse population developing unique and individualized programs that ensure client safety, satisfaction, and enhancement of personal fitness goals. Responsibilities include conducting private and group personal training sessions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain a consistent client base
• Develop relationships and assist members, helping with member retention
• Set and conduct appointments according to the clients availability
• Update and maintain accurate client records
• Recognize the potential and limitations of each client
• Conduct fitness assessments and assist clients with goal setting
• Keep a safe, clean and fun atmosphere for our members
• Promote personal training packages being offered
• Be proficient at teaching fundamental movements and exercises during client consultations
• Adhere to all YMCA policies, procedures and guidelines
• Educate, motivate, and inspire clients in a positive manner while adhering to the YMCAs core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have a current, nationally recognized Personal Training certification (ex: ACE, ACSM, NASM)
• A degree or background in kinesiology, exercise science, health and human performance, physical therapy, exercise physiology or related field is preferred
• Must love working with people and feel comfortable working 1 on 1 and in group settings
• Must be organized and professional
• Must be energetic, motivating and have excellent communication and people skills
• Current First Aid/CPR Certifications preferred
• Flexible schedule is required including weekdays and weekends
