Responsible for any client interactions and transactions conducted at a GPB. This position will conduct operational job duties primarily related to teller and account services. Position will work directly with the customers and clients of the bank, supporting the branch’s general goals and highlighting the benefits of the banks products and services in meeting customer needs. Employee will be cross-trained on all branch operational functions to be readily available to serve any client.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Analyzes customer information to identify opportunities for growth and expansion of services
  • Develops and maintains positive long term relationships with customers
  • Processes deposits, withdrawals, and cash flow at a teller window as needed
  • Count cash, answers phones, files deposit slips and paperwork, manages ATM deposits and balances accounts at the end of the day
  • Sells appropriate banking services and products, including convenience services, certificates of deposit, and sends referrals for bonds, investment services, and asset or portfolio management.
  • Opens checking, savings, certificate of deposits, safe deposit boxes and other new accounts
  • Assists customers with account forms and proper identification
  • Processes new debit card applications, orders cards, and maintains customer files
  • Resolves customer complaints. If needed, escalates to branch manager or corporate supervisors.
  • Identifies investment needs of customers, provides guidance for reaching investment goals.
  • Follows legal and regulatory requirements in all actions as established by the bank and other applicable government and nongovernmental agencies
  • Performs clerical duties including accounting and data gathering for governmental reports
  • Administrative and sales assistant work, customer follow ups
  • Accepts and processes loan payments, transfers, and advances
  • Accepts and helps processes loan applications

Supervisory Responsibilities: The job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office software.

Physical Demands: This position may require long periods of standing or sitting and may include long periods of typing and repetitive motion. Candidates must possess the ability to lift and carry cash drawers, coin bags, and boxes sometimes weighing as much as 25 pounds. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The environment would be consistent with a typical business office with moderate noise, services open to the public and the ability to work in a confined area typically indoors.
