Job description
The Product Owner is responsible for functional support, production, ongoing development, upgrades and enhancements to the of PeopleSoft Campus Solution System. Works closely with end-users and internal customers to ensure the PeopleSoft 9.2 system features are fully utlilized. Partners with the Systems and Technology group to coordinate system improvements and upgrades, system testing, conversions and implementations. Supports the PeopleSoft configuration of Student Records and Academic Records and determines the backlog of future enhancements based on customer needs and priorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide PeopleSoft Student Records and Academic Records Functional consulting services by acting as subject matter expert and leading Stakeholders through the entire systems development lifecycle- Work on all project phases of PeopleSoft Student Records, Campus Community, including fit/gap, configuration, testing and Implementation
- Scopes, defines, and manages the product backlog
- Assess value and develops business cases to ensure work focuses on efforts with a maximum value
- Develops user stories, tasks, and specifications for the development team
- Assist Stakeholders in fully integrating the PeopleSoft Student Records and Campus Community system into their current business environments and provide input on best practices
- Advise client on options, risks, and any impacts of PeopleSoft Student Records and Campus Community on other processes or systems
- Configure the PeopleSoft Student Records and Campus Community to meet each client’s unique business requirements
- Complete tasks efficiently and in a timely manner
- Report progress to Stakeholders, project managers and Directors
- Provides direction to developers and testers on product quality and requirements as the “voice of the customer”
- Negotiates priority and resource allocation with Product Owners of integrated systems (CRM, online classroom, student portal, etc)
- Manages large, cross-platform, cross-functional projects
- Continually seek ways to improve the process of delivering PeopleSoft Student Records and Campus Community
- Share knowledge to continually improve implementation methodology using the PeopleSoft 9.2 Technology
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
Minimum of 5 years PeopleSoft experience- 5 years of Solid experience with PeopleSoft Student Records implementations
- 3 Years of PeopleSoft Campus Community Experience
- 5 years of experience managing projects and requirements
- Experience with the Higher Education student lifecycle
- PeopleSoft 9.2 experience
- Experience in academic operations, system improvements and the ability to prepare corrective action plans
- Proven ability to develop and manage backlogs and roadmaps
- Strong knowledge of Agile principles and processes
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work on all project phases of a project: Project Preview, Fit/Gap Analysis, Configuration, Development, Testing, and Release- Functional skills in PeopleSoft Student Administration/Campus Solutions with a basic understanding of Student Records and Campus Community is a plus
- Management of stakeholders and their expectation.
- Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills.
- Experience with a definition of minimum marketable features and minimum viable products.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams to set priorities and deliver on common goals.
- Documentation skills (UI mockups, training guides, communication plans) is a plus.
