Job description

This position is full-time, Monday-Thursday. This is not a remote position.

This role is responsible for the design, development and implementation of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs. This position will also be responsible for maintaining the engineering component library and database.

GENERAL DUTIES:

Develop and draft PCB layouts for complex, multi-layer printed circuit boards (using Altium Design software) with guidance from Senior Designer and Electrical, Mechanical and RF Engineers

Component placement, trace routing, analysis, verification, and related work on new and existing printed circuit board designs

Prepare fabrication drawings, manufacturing data and Gerber files necessary for procurement of stencils and circuit boards from suppliers

Produce fabrication drawings, parts lists, and bills of material/BOM * Create, verify and import schematic symbols, 3D models, and component footprints into component library and database*

Interface with Electrical, Mechanical and Production staff from design to final product

JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education, Experience and Competencies

Associate Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (BS degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred)

Five years relevant work experience responsible for design analysis and development of control panel, display, and human interface systems.

Must be highly proficient in multilayer PCB layout using Altium Designer o Industry experience with other EDA/ECAD tools such as Eagle, Mentor Graphics (PADS), Viewlogic, Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, P-CAD, AutoCAD is desired

Experience with Rigid, Flex and Rigid-Flex design requirements

Experience with high-density component placement and routing in small spaces using minimal layers

Knowledge of multi-layer board stack-ups and mixed technologies such as blind/buried vias, controlled impedance, digital, high-speed, analog and RF

Working knowledge of high-voltage creepage and clearance issues, length matching, differential pairing, and emissions control

Thorough understanding and utilization of DFF/DFM principles to ensure manufacturability and integration into mechanical housings/enclosures etc.

Thorough understanding of PWB fabrication, materials choices and processing

Familiarity with applicable IPC and IEE standards for PCB design (IPC CID certification a plus)

Ability to perform schematic capture and PCB layout design

Knowledge on how to enter (and minimize) design rules and constraints

Ability to interface with ECAD, MCAD & DFM tools

Read/Write Fluently in English

Sustained dependable attendance.

Cooperation with others in team environment for cross training and conference on operational issues.

Initiative in learning and changing work methods to accomplish assigned tasks on a timely basis.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Regularly required to sit for long periods of time.

Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
