Title:Bi-Lingual Payroll Specialist

Reports to:Payroll Supervisor

Pay Range:$20-$26/hr. based on qualifications and experience.

Position Mission: Alvarado Restaurant Nation is a nationwide franchisee of YUM Brands, with operations in five states involving multiple FEINs. We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist, with knowledge of payroll functions, in a high volume setting for processing in house payroll.

Responsibilities Include:

• Process and distribute bi-weekly payroll for 1,600+ employees, to include keying in data to master file, auditing time cards, reviewing exception reports, and running payroll checks; audit amounts and checks before they are distributed to the employees including review of all related payroll information and approvals to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain data entry of New Hire paperwork into the payroll system (Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains), positing changes in pay, tax status, termination and any other miscellaneous changes, timely and accurately
• Responsible for the coordination efforts between Payroll and other areas to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data from New Hire platform (TalentReef).
• Manually verify all New Hire information to E-Verify.
• Ensure internal promotion paperwork is processed according to company policy.
• Key in direct deposit
• Maintain PTO data including vacation and sick time.
• Serve as a liaison to Operations/field employees to resolve payroll-related issues, to include coordinating off cycle checks.
• Support and process all payroll-related functions within the required deadlines (wage garnishments, unemployment claims, severances, workers compensation, bonus)
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, to include State and Federal W4s and W2s.
• Work on special projects as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• 3+ years of Payroll experience, processing with one or more payroll systems.
• High School Diploma preferred.
• Bi-Lingual (Spanish and English) required.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure of meeting tight deadlines.
• Team oriented with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• System exposure to Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, TalentReef, business intelligence, restaurant back office, Edrug, SSA
• Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information.
