Job description
We are currently searching for a qualified full-time Payroll Clerk to manage the weekly processing of employee compensation for the company. The position requires a thorough professional with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will show a proven commitment to the confidentiality necessary when handling sensitive records. Experience in entering data with attention to detail is required. Excellent mathematical skills are essential to this role to make necessary calculations common to the job. A successful Payroll Clerk will have the ability carry out payroll procedures with both speed and accuracy.
Essential Job Duties:
- Analyze, prepare, and distribute weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees
- Calculate and distribute employee allowances, per diems, wage garnishments, and child support, as necessary
- Investigate and timely resolve any payroll discrepancies
- Maintain payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes, etc.
- Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll reports for management
- Prepare, submit, and maintain certified payroll records
Qualifications:
- In-house payroll experience (Minimum 2 years preferred)
- Construction and Union experience
- Associates Degree or equivalent required (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
- Experience in data collection and entry with great attention to detail
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and mathematical abilities with aptitude in problem solving
- Ability to meet all assigned deadlines
