Job Overview
We have a newly created opportunity for a Payroll Analyst to join our North American payroll team in Milwaukee, WI. In this role you will be responsible for processing payroll finances which includes the general ledger, funding, and reconciliations. The analyst will be a business partner responsible for monitoring the financial performance of the business through payroll and provide business leaders reliable and timely information to guide them to decision making process.
Key Job Responsibilities

Process as liaison between payroll and Finance on projects, reporting, and reconciliations.

Process weekly General Ledger files, balance, and post to respective finance systems. Become SME for all GL related changes, including the ability to build new files for acquisitions.

Process all month end reconciliations, working with local finance teams on required files and ensuring payroll dollars are accurate.

Provide analytical support, including variance analysis on budget to actual and current year vs. prior year, to internal business partners including Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, HR, Legal and other departments as appropriate. Prepare data, provide analysis and propose recommendations in support of business goals and objectives. Develop standard reports for ongoing customer needs

Process all garnishments, answer court orders, balance during the funding process and return as applicable.

Process all after payroll funding including payments through AP and Treasury.

Process all after payroll reporting to Union halls.

Serve as a backup to other payroll processors to process payrolls as needed to cover for vacations, leaves of absences, etc.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent work experience

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to think Globally and strategically

Strong general ledger understanding and accounting rules.

Excellent Excel skills

Good understanding of payroll processing experience, Canadian or international payroll experience is a plus

Strong working knowledge or payroll processes and procedures

Ability to demonstrate professional demeanor, superior organizational skills and strong motivation to meet deadlines and achieve goals

Results oriented with the ability to drive change.
