Dianne’s Fine Desserts has locations in Newburyport, MA and Le Center, MN selling premium cheesecakes, pies, tarts, brownies, and specialty desserts. Together, the companies serve over 250 customers in Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Europe. Dessert Holdings is a portfolio company of Bain Capital, a private equity firm that focuses on high growth businesses.
This position will begin by running payroll for the Humble, TX facility. During this initial period, the Payroll Analyst will learn the current system (sage), develop an understanding of payroll process, and consistently run payroll with minimal errors. We are in the process of consolidating 5 payroll systems down to one centralized HRIS platform, once current state payroll is running efficiently, the Payroll Analyst will assist with designing system processes, help with site implementation, train operations managers/employees and assist with communication. As we roll out site implementation the Payroll Analyst will assume payroll processing for additional facilities. The successful Payroll Analyst will have a vision for future state payroll operations and will continuously work to improve the payroll process and drive efficiencies.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for payroll processing for multiple facilities, ensuring accuracy of all wage calculations, withholdings, deductions, and any personnel changes that may have occurred.
- Ensures compliance and maintains up to date knowledge of all applicable local, state, and federal wage and hour laws.
- Work with Human Resources team members to verify that new hires, leaves, terminations and pay adjustments are accurate ensuring accuracy in data entry for direct deposit, tax withholding, and wage garnishments and all payroll related data.
- Review payroll procedures in line with company and department objectives and recommend internal control or efficiency enhancements
- Maintain Payroll, Benefits (PBEnroll), Tax (ADP) and 401k (Fidelity Net Benefits) systems; identify and resolve issues related to software or vendor data feeds.
- Coordinate with local HR teams to respond to employee inquiries and resolve issues related to payroll, benefits, taxes, etc.
- Prepare census data for employee benefits plans and other reports for Human Resources, Finance, internal/external auditors.
- Prepare routine reports to include year-end compliance data
- Prepare and review Year-end reports and works with vendors/ appropriate parties to submit any necessary corrections in a timely manner.
- Evaluate current processes and systems and make recommendations for continuous improvements.
- Assist HR team with managing HR processes, supporting employee request and assisting with employee relation tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications
- One to five years of payroll processing, general Human Resources and/or reporting experience required
- Experience with data analysis and auditing procedures, Excel knowledge required
- Current knowledge of FLSA, other local, state, and federal regulations required
- Accuracy in data entry is a must
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience processing payroll in Sage, ADP, and/or UKG strongly preferred
Salary: $65,000 - $77,000 depending on experience
Hybrid work schedule – Company paid parking at our office in downtown St. Paul.
