Perform a variety of complex accounting duties related to the preparation, processing, and maintenance of payroll records. Collect, analyze, and update payroll data.

Day-to-Day Role

• Test and audit payroll systems, processes, and related activities
• Identify and resolve compliance issues
• Lead department projects and present recommendations based on analytical data and findings
• Identify trends, propose solutions, and take action to ensure integrity in the system data and processes
• Develop standard and custom reports relative to compensation payments
• Write, maintain, and support reports or queries; maintain data integrity in systems through queries and analyzing data
• Develop and maintain training programs, user procedures, and guidelines for responsibilities or projects involving garnishment reporting, time and attendance, and compensation systems
• Participate in projects and testing of new payroll programs
• Provide feedback and recommendations for payroll accounting activities

Core Skills and Qualifications

The ideal Payroll Analyst candidate must possess the following:

• Associate's degree in accounting, Business, or related field and three (3) years of progressive payroll experience with a mechanized payroll system in a high-tech, high-volume environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Two (2) years of experience with SAP payroll or related business systems
• One (1) year of experience with multi-state payroll processing and tax payments
• Advanced knowledge of payroll processes, time and attendance, multi-state garnishment laws and multi-state tax laws
• Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal and external customers
• Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience with time and attendance systems
• Experience with in-house payroll processing
• Experience with multi-state child support and garnishment processing
• Ability to travel up to 5% of the time domestically
