Payroll Accounts Payable Specialist
Washington DC/Hybrid
MUST:
5+years of experience handling Accounts Payable and payroll processing
Experience working for a non-profit or association
Experience processing and recording a/p transactions
Processing and entering payroll and making adjustments as needed
Experience handling payroll and A/P reconciliations
Experience filing payroll taxes and related journal entries
Process ACH payments
Experience with 401A calculations with submission to journal entries
403B payroll reconciliation
Updating journal entries
Some experience working with grants and supporting audits
Experience utilizing an automated nonprofit accounting system
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance a must
DUTIES :
Process and record accounts payable transactions
Respond to inquiries from donors
Complete the Payroll process, time sheets, adjustments, submission and Journal Entries
Update and maintain vendor files in Accounts Payable modules for preparation and reporting of 1099s
File payroll taxes filing remittances and related journal entries
401A calculation and submission to Principal and Journal Entry
403B per payroll reconciliation and Journal Entry
Review all payments made thru bank and review, research and clear any exceptions
Review bank statements and export to Excel to assign transactions
Process all accounts payable check runs to include ACH payments
Research daily deposits and assign and process
Perform monthly accounts payable and payroll related reconciliations
Maintains monthly outstanding list for accounts payable
