PRISM's Payer Relations Department is responsible for managing the integral relationships with health insurance companies nationwide and oversees the administration of insurance payer contracts to ensure compliance, improve revenue streams, mitigate administrative barriers, and resolve payer related issues. We also support PRISM by being the internal source of information related to new health insurance plans entering the market, health plan policies and guidelines, and other relevant health plan insights by managing internal databases, delivering monthly reports, and employing effective communication strategies. A day in the life of a Payer Relations professional:

  • Administrative tasks surrounding the pursuit of credentialing and contracting with government and commercial insurance payers, networks, or other forms of payers.
  • On going completion of payer credentialing and re-credentialing requirements in a comprehensive and timely manner.
  • Effectively establish payers for electronic claim submission and payment receipt.
  • Regularly update and contribute to multiple databases of contracted and non-contracted payers.
  • Maintain provider portal accounts and applicable databases via registration, password resets and problem-solving any login related issues.
  • Assist in problem solving of contracting and claims processing issues through collaboration with internal departments and contracted and non-contracted payers.
  • Support and serve as a resource for all department opportunities to include, but not limited to, health plan data base updates, health plan research and development, and health plan communications.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety and compliance. Resolve any are of non-compliance immediately.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Payer Relations Coordinator.
