The Patient Accounts Representative supports the delivery services and the financial goals and objectives of the organization through effective verification procedures and the effective day-to-day management of financial data.
Job Responsibilities:
- Verifies patient insurance benefits, effectively calculating deductibles, co-payments, and co-insurances. Disperses this information via e-mail to the appropriate parties.
- Interacts regularly with insurers, ensuring the correct insurance provider and information is timely and noted in the client’s computer record.
- Reviews client census for accuracy.
- Verifies documentation on after hours admissions, and follows up on day admissions. Obtains any missing documentation. Follows up on any documentation left incomplete from the client’s initial admission.
- Maintains necessary financial information, and inputs the appropriate information into the system. Enters critical client insurer information daily, including company names, addresses, inpatient and outpatient coverage, and special information.
- Works with clients and their families to obtain payment for housing and maintains appropriate computer programs reflecting payments and or payment arrangements.
- Follows up on unpaid claims to ensure accuracy of information provided with initial verification.
