Description

SAIC is seeking a Patch and Test Technician based in Manchester, TN!

This individual will be part of a team that manages the Patch and Test Facility in a challenging and fluid work environment that is based in Manchester, Tennessee. The candidate will provide Tier I/II support to manage and maintain connectivity for hundreds of devices supporting thousands of users including critical “VIPs” and multiple, autonomous, secure networks.

Duties:

• Perform Tier I level O&M functions on enterprise level LAN and WAN IP-based infrastructure systems.
• Perform analyses on networks to discover and document the baseline.
• Support planning and execution of network installations and hardware upgrades.
• Perform Tier I level LAN and WAN preventive and corrective maintenance and troubleshooting/problem resolution on a wide range of technologies such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, DMVPN, Spanning-Tree, Port-Security, etc.
• Use network analysis tools (CISCO Prime, SolarWinds, TACACS+ etc.).
• Monitor performance to identify and optimize the system infrastructure and conduct transaction monitoring for bandwidth utilization and application performance. Must have a basic understanding of 802.1X technology using Cisco Identity Services.
• Support an improved infrastructure information security vulnerability posture through the performance of vulnerability assessments and analyses.
• Support customer computer technical support efforts on personal computers, thin clients, laptops, and peripherals.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of experience; OR, High School equivalent and 6+ years of experience.
• 4+ years of experience working in a Tech Control environment desired.
• Must be CompTIA Security+ certified
• Must have a current TS/SCI clearance.
• Must have valid U.S. Passport.
• Extensive experience maintaining an operational long-haul communications facility in a high paced, diverse, military telecommunications environment.
• Extensive experience designing and maintaining long-haul data/voice transmission systems traversing various interconnect technologies (cable, fiber, satellite, etc).
• Experience with troubleshooting ATM, SONET and IDNX/PROMINA systems.
• In-Depth long-haul system problem troubleshooting/resolution abilities.
• Experience with cryptographic devices and secure data/voice transmission policies, processes and procedures.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs of equipment.

Desired Qualifications:

• Some experience with encryption devices such as Taclanes and KIV-7M
• Some experience with higher level transport infrastructure (ATM, SONET, ODXC, etc.)
• Some experience working with military Tech Control Facilities (TCF/PTF)
