Job description

We are looking for a full-time and part-time Pastoral Care Associates. You must have availability to work every other weekend and holidays. The hours for this role are 8:00am- 12:00pm or 8:00am- 4:00pm!

Essential Functions, include but are not limited to:

• Offers communion to residents unable to attend Mass
• Offers spiritual consolation to residents and their families at the time of death or serious illness through prayer and supportive ministry
• Assists in the planning and conducting of Memorial Services
• Coordinate funeral services for resident with the resident's family, the staff at SAC and the funeral director when the funeral is hosted at SAC
• Maintains chap appearance and supplies including candles, hosts and wine and arranges for chaplain to bless
• Responsible for providing a morning and noontime prayer using the intercom system
• Gives pastoral care orientation to new employees
• Ensure Pastoral Care Secretary publishes the bulletin and the messenger weekly
• Keep Holy water filled and ensure appropriate washing
• Wash Chapel linens and Priest Robes
• Water Flowers and Plants as needed in the chapel

Occasional Functions:

• Schedule Protestant Bible study and/or worship services
• Helps with Activities as needed
• Represent SAC at calling/viewings of residents having services in the Fort Wayne area

Job Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate and have clinical pastoral education or experience.
• Must have received instructions for Eucharistic minister to provide communion for Catholic residents
• Must be an active member of the Roman Catholic Faith and have Parish ministry experience
