JOB SUMMARY

The Parts Runner picks up parts from vendors and delivers them to company sites, spending approximately 75% of the time driving. This position also performs clerical and organizational functions in the parts department, including monitoring stock locations, issuing parts to maintenance personnel, receiving invoices from vendors and recording data to ensure the department is able to maintain the fleet in safe operating condition.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when and where necessary.
• Operate a company vehicle to pick up orders from vendor locations and deliver to company sites.
• Perform clerical duties, such as inspecting shipments for accuracy and completeness.
• Receive and unpack orders, process invoices and label parts and shelves.
• Process parts or supplies charged out to repair orders.
• Ensure all parts are stored in their assigned locations.
• Perform physical inventories.
• Process returns and cores following established procedures.
• Provide customer service to both internal and external customers.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the parts storage area, parts counter and parts receiving area.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Must be able to be forklift-certified by the company
• Must work well independently
• Should have strong inventory and data entry skills and the ability to function in a fast-paced work environment
• Must be able to work amid constant interruptions, prioritize workload and deal with time pressures
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in English

PREFERRED

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite – i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook
• Diesel mechanical background

REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS

• Valid Texas Class C driver’s license
• Safe driving for the past three years
