Cedarbrook Senior Care & Rehab is looking for a Part-time Unit Clerk for it's Fountain Hill location.

This is full performance level clerical work providing support to nursing offices and units in a County nursing home facility. A position in this class performs a variety of clerical tasks in connection with the admission, documentation of care, and discharge of residents. A position in this class is differentiated from those in related classes in its direct support of nursing activities and the concomitant requirement for knowledge of specialized terminology and documentation methods. A position in this class receives instructions and oversight from unit nursing staff, but reports directly to a supervisory nursing position.

Part-Time (Schedule 10a-2p Monday-Friday) not benefit eligible

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of procedural and processing requirements governing resident care record keeping and documentation and nursing unit work operations.
• Knowledge of English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation, including medical terminology, as used in nursing facilities.
• Skill in organizing workload, establishing priorities, and completing clerical processing requirements.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with medical, nursing, and administrative staff and residents and their families.
• Ability to operate office equipment including personal computers as required by work assignment.
• Ability to lift, support, and maneuver residents.

Acceptable Experience and Training:

• Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth school grade.
• One to two years of clerical experience which has included work with medical terminology and/or the use of office equipment such as personal computers.
• Or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience which has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities cited above.
