Part Time - Security Officer - Ryman Auditorium
Job description
Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, clients and employees of Ryman Auditorium and surrounding properties. Provide crowd control and enforce company policies while treating all guests, clients and employees with courtesy, dignity and respect. Protect company property.
- Monitors the safety and security of the buildings and adjacent properties through mobile/foot patrol, stationary posts, CCTV monitoring, monitoring of fire panels and control panels, and traffic control.
- Performs safety and security duties including protecting property, maintaining order, directing traffic, checking access passes, IDs, conducting parcel searches and pat-downs, and generally enforcing policies as outlined in SSTs (including alcohol related policies).
- Responds to any emergencies (such as medical, fire, weather, etc), assisting guests as necessary, and helping coordinate evacuation procedures.
- Provides assistance to patrons and employees in need of medical attention, while awaiting the arrival of emergency medical personnel. May be required to administer minor first aid, CPR, and AED.
- Provides security to artists, dignitaries and other VIPs.
- Oversees parking areas, ensuring that only authorized vehicles are granted access.
- Conducts safety inspections. Report safety hazards (including defective equipment) appropriately.
- Prepares incident, accident & other reports that may be required at a specific post.
- Provides on the job training to new security officers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
Background in law enforcement or security with entertainment/hospitality venue and crowd control experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
Must be able to complete security classroom and on-the-job training
Licenses / Certifications
Must have valid CPR certification or attain certification within 90 days of start date (we cover the cost)
Must have valid State of Tennessee Unarmed Security License or attain license in accordance with state law (we cover the cost)
Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record required
Must complete Crowd Management Training
This position requires a pre-employment drug screening (4-panel: phencyclidine, cocaine, amphetamines, and opiates).
