A fun family of 4 in Evanston is searching for a reliable and responsible after-school nanny to join their team! The family has two girls, aged 8 and 5 years, as well as two friendly dogs and three rabbits. The nanny should love pets and be excited to join a vibrant, loving, and laid-back household!

The nanny’s main responsibility will be to pick the children up from school daily at 2:45pm, provide them with healthy snacks, and drive them to their various extra-curriculars. On certain days, mom will help with pick-up and transportation, as the children are often enrolled in different activities. While the children are at activities, nanny will be responsible for tidying of children’s spaces, folding and putting away family laundry, occasional meal prep, and pet-care. When children are not at activities, nanny should help with homework, plan and supervise playdates, and oversee bedtime routines.

Dad is a busy professional who works from home but will be in his office or often traveling. Mom is a professor who will work as a team with the nanny as much as possible but also has a heavy class load that changes each semester.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who is nurturing, trustworthy, and can become part of the family while still upholding structure and boundaries. The family really values someone who is flexible and willing to stay late or help on weekends as needed. Opportunities for overnights and traveling as well. Excellent and safe driving skills are a must! Nanny should have a safe reliable vehicle for use on the job. Monthly mileage stipend will be provided. Up-to-date vaccinations required.

Schedule: Monday 4:15pm-8:15pm, Tues-Friday typically 2:30pm-6:30pm. Activity schedule changes each semester and hours may shift slightly depending. Weeks of advanced notice will be given. Summer hours will also shift slightly based on camp schedules. Guaranteed 20 hours per week.

Pay: $25-28/hour before taxes, open to cash (PayPal) pay as well.

Benefits: At least 2 weeks (40hrs) of paid vacation, sick/personal days, paid holidays, guaranteed hours.
