Arlington Transit Management, a subsidiary agency of RATP Dev USA, is a special purpose transit district that provides the transportation and event services to the Arlington Entertainment
District and its venues.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the integrity and efficient operations of CAD/AVL, including public facing peripherals and customer communications.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Requires above average oral and written communication, customer service, and technological/decision-making skills. Ability to read and interpret digital maps, schedules, manifests, and provide route and schedule information to guests.

Maintains and ensure efficient operations of CAD/AVL software and databases including public facing peripherals. Responsible for daily dispatch/control operations to effectively manage services. Monitors service and routes for on time performance, as well as other key performance indicators. Ensures operator and supervisory compliance with applicable DOT regulations, including hours of service.

Prepares monthly and quarterly performance reports from electronic on time monitoring systems; collects, compiles, and submits other CAD/AVL reports as appropriate.

Trains operations staff on use of technology, inclusive of CAD/AVL system, hardware, and peripherals. Ensures operations compliance to route adherence via AVL.

Works independently and in conjunction with road supervisors, operations management, maintenance management, and training. Updates system and alerts in real time as well as manages incidents, accidents, and performance in both AVL and Safe Tracker. Assess and communicates in service vehicle operations problems with Operations Manager.

Frequently used to perform roadside supervisor duties as needed and will be utilized to drive revenue hours as determined by the nature of the business.

Must meet qualifications and comply as outlined in Subpart E §391.33 Physical Qualifications and §391.43 Medical Examinations of the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal
Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).

Must comply with Arlington Transit Management's Drug & Alcohol Testing Program as outlined in the Department of Transportation (DOT) & Federal Transit Administrations (FTA)
49 CFR Part 40 & CFR Part 655 to include the Company Substance Abuse Policy. See
Minimum Requirements.

Operate radio system in accordance with Arlington Transit Management's established policies and procedures and the Federal Communication Commission (FCC).

Controller/Supervisor must adhere to the uniform application of the Performance Policy,
Attendance Policy, Safety and Operational procedures as designated by Arlington Transit
Management.

MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform daily dispatching and related activities; coordinate trip assignments; monitor radio communications; monitor operator adherence to schedules, report time, and HOS. Maintain all dispatch records, including daily time records and prepare reports.

Provide direct road supervision as needed; monitor operator adherence to schedules and operating procedures. Respond and assist operators when incidents/accidents occur, perform accident investigation techniques and aid with passenger problems, road calls, and breakdowns.

Assist in the safety and security of the operation with Federal, State or Local Law enforcement personnel. Prepares, compiles, and submits timely reports on work activities, operations, production, or work-related accidents/incidents. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:
Associates Degree, preferably in business, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Equivalent of three years of experience in transit or motor truck operations coupled with responsibility for and/or training in dispatch with CAD/AVL supervision and scheduling or two years of recent experience as a public transit supervisor/operator.

Must possess and maintain a Texas State Commercial Class (A or B) License or Permit with
Passenger & Air Brake endorsement (for A & B licenses). Drivers’ history report from
Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), documenting driving record for past three to five years. Five years’ experience in the operation of a motor vehicle preferred. No more than three
(3) citations for moving violations during past three (3) years. Accidents are also considered when reviewing DMV Reports (multiple accidents could disqualify applicants). No Driving
While Intoxicated (DWI/DUI) conviction within last three (3) years.
Other:
Must be at least 21 years of age, must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical
(medical) examination, which includes an alcohol & drug screen.

Per DOT/FTA standards Arlington Transit Management bus operators are subject to random alcohol & drug testing as a condition of continued employment. A criminal background check will be completed and assessed by Arlington Transit Management on viable candidates.

Must be able to work variable shifts and irregular hours. Must be able to communicate in the
English Language both orally and written.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to assist wheelchair/scooters bound disabled customers in boarding and de-boarding bus (requires bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, and twisting on occasion while assisting wheelchair/scooters customers. Long periods of sitting while driving/operating transit bus.
Includes, reaching above head to adjust mirrors and destination signs during pre-trip inspections. Requires sitting for extended periods of time, and repetitive hand motion.
Requires occasional lifting and climbing, 0- 45 pounds.
