Greenville County Parks, Recreation & Tourism is seeking a dedicated and capable individual to join our team as a MAINTENANCE TECH I to help maintain and improve our vast array of parks and athletic fields.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Perform restroom maintenance.
• Maintain recreation parks and athletic fields as assigned: watering playing fields/other turf, mowing and aerating playing fields/other turf, installing landscape materials and sod, trimming trees and shrubbery, applying fertilizers and herbicides, installing and repairing fencing and picnic tables, installing and maintaining signage, removing debris and trash.
• Prepare fields and facilities for athletic and other recreation events.
• Inspect playing fields, grounds and facilities for security and safety, and taking appropriate steps to ensure the safety of all staff and citizens and the protection of Department property.
• May direct activities of assigned maintenance crew members.
• May assist with event/program/tournament planning and/or execution.
• Transport equipment and other items to and from recreation sites as directed.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of necessary supplies, materials and equipment. Maintain and perform minor repairs of department equipment as needed.
• Perform basic general building maintenance work as necessary.
• May install and maintain irrigation equipment.
• Receive and respond to inquiries, requests for assistance, concerns and complaints in areas of responsibility.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.16 per hour
