QUESTIONS
Performs a variety of semi-skilled and manual work tasks, with an emphasis on semi-skilled work in the development, repair, maintenance and beautification of parks and recreational areas; and performs other related duties as assigned.
There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Parks and Recreation, Park Maintenance and Recreations Services Division. The position is responsible for the maintenance of Ewa Mahiko District Park and recreational appurtenances and/or building and the performance of variety of related task within Section 2 (Waipahu, Ewa, Makakilo to Barber's Point). May be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Will serve as a Disaster Response Worker during declared emergencies

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Experience and or training of sufficient scope and quality to show competence in manual labor and semi-skilled tasks in the care, maintenance and beautification of landscaped areas; performance of semi-skilled or skilled building or mechanical trades experience; and/or operation or repair of passenger and/or tractor type mowers.
Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of identification, care and cultivation of shrubs, flowers, trees and lawns; operation and care of grounds and general construction equipment and tools; common methods and materials used in simple construction and maintenance work; operation and maintenance of tractor type mowers; safety practices and procedures; and the ability to care for and cultivate plants, trees, shrubs, and ground cover; perform heavy manual work in the repair and maintenance of buildings and park grounds; repair, operate and maintain tractor type mowers; operate hand and power equipment and tools; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; deal effectively and courteously with the general public; learn pertinent laws, rules and regulations and enforce them; and make simple oral and written reports.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT :
Valid Hawaii State driver's license (Type 3), prior to appointment.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE EVALUATION:
In addition to meeting the above minimum requirements, your application will be further evaluated.
