JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct regularly scheduled home visits in the child’s home according to the performance standards and demonstrate the ability to interact with the child and family in a consistent and supportive manner.
• Develop and implement individualized, developmentally appropriate plans for each child and family that meet program standards and the family’s needs. This will include assessing the family's overall needs and making appropriate community referrals as necessary.
• Participate in enrollment activities with the family on an ongoing basis and assist families with the transition process to the child’s next program in accordance with EHS transition procedure.
• Plan and participate in socialization and related activities which stimulate child/family interactions.
• Provide parent education and information regarding fetal/infant/toddler development including safety issues, parenting, prenatal care, and nutrition. This will include demonstrating knowledge of infant and toddler development and methods to promote development during the family's daily routines.
• Facilitate parent meetings monthly while encouraging parent participation and leadership. Recruit parent volunteers and facilitate field trips.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Home Visitor CDA minimum; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Child Development or related field preferred
• At least one year’s experience in working with children and families
• Valid driver’s license and properly insured automobile.
• Ability to develop consistent, stable and supportive relationships with very young children and their parents
• Knowledge of community resources in the area
• Ability to drive around the service area; lift and carry infants and toddlers stand, bend, and sit for long periods; and keep pace with children by moving quickly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with families in distress

Pay: $12.48 per hour
