Job description
Designed to enhance the capacity of Parents as Teachers to serve Families with children prenatal and above who reside in the KCKPS District.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Successfully complete all Parents' as Teachers training and other training necessary to meet the district and state requirements.
- Provide outreach to families residing in the Kansas City KS School
- Conduct home visits.
- Be available to schedule visits mornings, afternoons, evenings, and some weekend days.
- Collect and input all data required to show work and progress with enrolled families and their children, prenatal and above.
- Work with community agencies and programs to recruit families within the school boundaries.
- Provide periodic monitoring and screening to assure that enrolled children do not reach age markers with an undetected health problem, handicap or developmental delay.
- Attend meetings as required and staff development training as needed.
- Participate in reflective supervision up to two times.
- Knowledge of proven methods that retain families in home visiting.
- Conduct group connections as assigned.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors' Degree in Early Childhood or related field required.
- Ability to communicate with parents, children, school personnel, community and civic organizations, and other professionals;
- Previous experience and proven success in working with at risk populations. Reliable transportation required.
COMMUNICATION
Maintains communication with other school personnel and parents/guardians to enhance cooperative action, which will meet the educational needs of students.
Maintains confidentiality regarding educational records.
ORGANIZATION
Maintains a daily log of home visits, communications with parents and other documentation as required.
Utilizes existing technology effectively in the performance of duties.
Performs other related work as required.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time, over a 12-month period, 40 hours weekly. This position does include some evenings and weekends.

SALARY: $24.40 - $29.16/hour
FLSA STATUS: Non- EXEMPT
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board of Education policy
