Job Description
As a Parent Advocate you will support parents with children in foster care to understand and navigate the foster care system, remain hopeful, and address family challenges so that they can accomplish their goal of reunification. The focus of this job is building connections with parents and working collaboratively with case planners. Each Parent Advocate will be assigned to a case planning unit and will support parents and bring their insights to the foster care agency decisionmaking process so that children are more likely to return home quickly and safely.
About You
You are the ideal candidate if you have a passion for empowering underserved communities and supporting children and their families. Being organized, empathetic, flexible and responsive are critical attributes to be successful in this role.
- You have a minimum High School Diploma.
- You have knowledge of quality documentation as required by agency's standards, rules and regulations.
- You have effective computer and writing skills.
- You have experience with ACS and family court.
- You have the ability to navigate the NYC foster care system.
- You have knowledge of child abuse or neglect reporting procedures and methods.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per month
