Position requires ability to work at different locations when it’s needed

• Position Title:* Paraprofessional ( Head Start)*
• Qualification:
• High School diploma or GED certificate is required
• Previous child care experience, preferably in Head Start is required
• College credits in Early Childhood Education is preferred*

Job Description Summary:*

• The Para Professional is responsible for serving preschool children with an IEP for severe to moderate disabilities in Head Start/Child Care collaboration programs.

Essential Functions:

• Implements plans under the direct supervision of the teacher
• With appropriate training, makes daily modifications for individuals while getting approval from teacher
• Keeps daily student progress records
• Assists with monitoring and scoring of objectives test items
• Reports results and observations
• Contributes to objectives, especially by providing daily updates on student progress
• Implements lessons to meet objectives
• Provides follow-up instruction to small groups and individuals
• Reinforce the teaching of the teacher by following lessons
• Prepares materials for instruction
• Implements positive behavioral strategies using the same techniques as the teacher
• Helps to determines appropriate strategies based on daily contact with students
• Reports regularly
• With parents about transportation and reports back to the teacher

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $30,750.00 per year
