Job Summary
The North Carolina certified Paramedic functions and plays an integral role as a part of the clinical patient care team under the clinical direction/supervision of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Medical Director or Medical Oversight (e.g., ED physician or Licensed Independent Practioner, LIP) The Paramedic operates within the defined scope of practice as defined by the Medical Director and North Carolina Office of EMS (NCOEMS) safely providing direct and indirect patient care (adhering to National Patient Safety Goals and CMS guidelines), observation, specified treatment and procedures while maintaining personal safety as well as effectively collecting and communicating pertinent data, physical, clinical and psychosocial findings within the patient care team including, but not limited to, nursing and LIPs.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Paramedic in North Carolina.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
- Must obtain American Heart Association ACLS and PALS within 1 year.
