BILINGUAL PARA EDUCATOR, DCS SCHOOL

If supporting youth in their educational journey, helping create lesson plans and having an opportunity to establish a creative and learning atmosphere for youth is something you are interested in, you might be the right person to join our team! We are a non-profit organization that achieves to provide a safe and supportive environment for youth in care. The Bilingual Para Educator helps serve up to 16 unaccompanied minors under the supervision of the Lead Teacher. They are responsible for aiding in educational services in a structured classroom setting appropriate to the development and communication skills of each youth. Academic areas include science, social studies, math, reading, writing, and physical education. The Para Educator will help in creating lesson plans, as well as develop enrichment activities for students based on their educational strengths and areas of growth. We require:

  • A bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, child development, social services, or related field
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Bilingual in Spanish and knowledge of Central American cultural traditions.
  • Experience in teaching and/or working with youth in educational-based program.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check & TB test
  • WA Driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Proof of COVID vaccination
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
