The packer is responsible for organizing a customer’s home before the official moving day by packing/placing items into boxes, including labeling and positioning all boxes and small items for the upcoming move, and safe operation of a company vehicle. An ideal applicant will be interested in part time, full time, seasonal work, have good customer service skills, experience in warehouse, package sorting, and similar work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Customer service oriented
- Packing boxes up to 35 lbs, moving and safely organizing the boxes in the customer’s home (kitchen, dining room, living room, bedrooms, etc.)
- Packing customers homes (dining room, kitchen, bedroom, etc.)
- Communicating with customers
- Other duties as assigned by general manager or operations manager
REQUIREMENTS
Because moving is stressful, we seek candidates with a commitment to customer service and an appreciation for variety in your job!
- At least 21 years of age or older and able to drive company vehicles
- Valid driver’s license
- Demonstrated oral comprehension, listening and communication skills
- Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and decimals with United States dollars, weight measurements, distance, and time
- Lifting of up to 35 pounds
- Local travel is required
- This is a part time position, averaging 20 to 25 hours each week
- Packers are frequently required to stand, walk, talk, sit, hear, use hands and fingers, handle, feel and/or lift with hands and arms
