About the team.
Our Detox program provides substance recovery services to clients in acute intoxication and/or withdrawal from drugs and alcohol. It offers Emergency Commitment Services, Case Management, Vocational Counseling, Referral and Advocacy, 24/7/365 Urine Analyses and Breathalyzer Monitoring, and Medication Assisted Treatment.
About the role.
The Outreach Van Driver will provide transportation for organization's clients. Respond to requests from contracted and approved agencies outside of organization for transportation of clients and transport admitted clients to hospitals, aftercare or other approved services as directed.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and care for persons being transported.
- Assist in maintaining Outreach vehicles.
- Assist in admission/discharge processes and taking vital signs.
- De-escalate clients in crisis situations.
- Maintain telephone contact with base facility and maintain legible and accurate written records.
- Provide professional interface with referral sources to help insure clients are referred appropriately and to maintain good relationships with referral sources.
- Assess clients as to alcohol/drug intoxication, general physical and behavioral health, level of motivation and other pertinent factors and transport to appropriate facility.
About you.
The ideal candidate works well on a team and in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be comfortable serving clients who are intoxicated and/or in acute withdrawal, transporting clients to and from hospitals and treatment centers, and providing good customer service inside the clinic and out in the community.
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- Entry level position with no specific experience.
- Preferred: Six months prior transporting experience.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within six months' of hire.
- Valid Colorado Driver's License with a driving record that meets organization's requirements.
- Effective problem solving skills.
- Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately.
- Understanding and ability to work with differing behavioral health presentations.
- Ability to perform or learn to perform basic vehicle maintenance.
Required Vaccinations:
- Aurora Mental Health Center (AuMHC) has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 as well as receive an annual influenza (flu) shot prior to their first day of hire. Proof of both vaccinations we will be required upon your first day of employment.
- Medical and religious exemptions may be requested for either COVID 19 vaccine or annual flu shot.
Compensation, Benefits & Perks.
Salary for this role (based on experience and company equity):
- $14.61- $21.92 / hour
Additional Compensation Opportunities:
- $1,000 Sign On Bonus Available
- Language Differential Pay (For Bilingual Candidates): 5% of base salary up to $3,000/year
