Join a dynamic team of engaged and committed professionals on the Organizational Engagement and Support (OES) team within Access and Eligibility Services (AES).

The Organizational Engagement Lead position works in the OES section of the Strategic Engagement and Employee Support (SEES) division, with primary focus on the state office level. The Organizational Engagement Lead reports to the OES Manager and performs highly advanced (senior-level) professional administrative and analysis work.

Work involves overseeing and implementing organizational studies and evaluations, evaluating surveys and synthesizing data, facilitating focus groups and gathering results, and evaluating effectiveness of engagement programs to assist management in recruiting and retaining employees. Facilitates large scale workgroup sessions with representatives across AES. Will develop and deliver reports and presentations, both written and oral.

While this role does not have supervisory responsibility, the Organizational Engagement Lead will provide guidance and support for other members of the organizational engagement team, including, plan, assign, and/or prioritize the work of others.

Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.




Essential Job Functions:
Evaluates current climate of employee engagement across Access and Eligibility Services (AES). Conducts engagement assessments at the state office level. Makes recommendations for new or improved engagement best practices and presents information to AES Senior Leadership, Directors, Managers, State Office and regional staff to implement for AES business units, both in written reports and oral presentations. (40%)

Works with AES change management team to identify risks for implementation of proposed employee engagement changes and helps develop change strategies and plans. (20%)

Designs and plans workshops and trainings for AES employee engagement initiatives. Conducts workshops and trainings when necessary. (20%)

Performs related work as assigned, including participating in project workgroups on proposed employee engagement changes. (10%)

Functions as team lead and will work closely with the Organizational Engagement Manager to plan, assign, and/or prioritize the work of others. (10%)

Knowledge of organizational development and management practices as applied to the analysis, evaluation, development and implementation of programs and procedures
Knowledge of best practices for employee engagement and organizational development
Knowledge of facilitation techniques effective with adult learners, or ability to quickly gain this knowledge.
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) with people with diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization.
Skill in interpersonal relationships, including the ability to work with others under pressure, negotiate among multiple parties, resolve conflicts, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization.
Skill in monitoring and assessing situations and determining appropriate response.
Skill in continuous process improvement.
Ability to assist in evaluating, developing, and revising staff engagement plans.
Ability to operate basic office equipment and audio/visual equipment and to use Windows based programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
Ability to work both within a team environment and independently.
Ability to demonstrate good judgment and serve as a model for others in demonstrating the mission, vision and values of AES.
Ability to convey a welcoming and inclusive work environment.
Ability to gather, organize and analyze data and enter information into Survey Monkey, or other surveying software.
Ability to establish and maintain rapport with co-workers and individuals served.

Initial Selection Criteria:
1. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in business, organizational management or related field. In lieu of degree, experience and advanced skill (minimum two years) in organizational engagement and/or internal communications. 2. Minimum three (3) years of experience in conducting trainings, meetings, or workshops. 3. Minimum two (2) years of experience in creating messages to a variety of audiences. 4. Minimum two (2) years experience in creating and analyzing surveys. 5. Establishing and cultivating effective interpersonal relationships.
