Position Description

The OCC Supervisor's main duty is to oversee, train, coach and provide support to dispatchers and flight followers, while also completing dispatch and flight following duties as needed. The OCC Supervisor must have a strong working knowledge of the processes, procedures and policies practiced by GrandView Aviation to safely and efficiently operate the flights on the schedule . The OCC Supervisor must be able to perform all tasks within the department and must have a strong ability to train, mentor and lead the team. The supervisor that fills this role must set the example for understanding regulatory and company requirements, making decisions quickly, prioritizing tasks, coming up with creative and efficient solutions, remaining calm under pressure all while providing prompt and exceptional service to all parties. The position requires the ability, desire, and motivation to cultivate a culture of safety, excellent customer service and critical thinking throughout the team.

The OCC Supervisor serves as the duty supervisor and is the first leader contacted by flight followers, dispatchers and other GrandView team members should they need assistance or support. The duty schedule will support the Operations Manager to help provide the team with 24/7 coverage. The OCC Supervisor is expected to be available to provide support outside of his or her regularly scheduled office hours. The Operations Manager must be able to successfully complete all tasks required of a Dispatcher and Flight Follower.

The salary for this position is $60,000 - $75,000

Job Duties and Skills

Quickand criticalthinking,confidence in making quick and effective decisions, projecting a calm and relaxed manner in times of stress,multitasking, understanding the sense ofurgency atwhich all communications must be responded to,delegating tasks as needed. Communicating effectivelyand providing excellent serviceacross all departments,including but not limited to operations staff,flight crews,clients,Director of Operations, Chief Pilots, the sales team, maintenance, line crew, FBOs, international handlers, hotels, and more.
  • Works closely with the Operations Manager to ensure the flight schedule is executed efficiently with regards to crew, budget and internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervises flight followers and dispatchers and provides support as needed.
  • Works with the maintenance team to ensure aircraft are airworthy before flight.
  • Work with the Chief Pilots to ensure that pilots and flight crew are current, trained and qualified for all assigned flights.
  • Works with the Resource Optimization Department to ensure trips are being executed as efficiently as possible.
  • Ensures all flight logs and expense reports are accurately completed and distributed to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner once the trip has been completed.
  • Ensures all flight crew rest and duty reports are completed at the beginning of each month. Verifies accuracy and timing of completion.
  • Trains team members in all job duties and tracks progress, improvement, and problem areas.
  • Coaches team members on timely and professional communication.
  • Ensures the team has been vetted and has access to the TSA Watchlist and ensures the team complies with the TFSSP's requirements of watchlist vetting.
  • Performsotherduties as assigned.


Position Requirements


  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • Customer service experience required - Able to communicate with customers an d colleagues sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times .
  • Ability to w ork in the fast paced 24/7 environment of business aviation.
  • Strong organizational skills - detail oriented with the abili ty to multitask, prioritize and be proactive.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible, strong ability to deal with change

Physical Requirements


  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 2 5 pounds at a time.
