Key Responsibilities:
- Overall leadership, planning and management of plant operations to support production and to achieve safety and quality objectives, ensure customer satisfaction, continuous improvement and operational effectiveness.
- Assume P&L accountability for three plant including evaluation of appropriate financial statements, assisting with the analysis between budgeted and actual results, and take appropriate actions to meet or exceed conditions set forth in the budget and the business plan.
- Responsible for entire operations, including monitoring operation of plant floor, inbound and outbound activities, project costing, inventory control and equipment.
- Develop and execute resource plans (machine, manpower, tooling, capital) to meet customer demands with timely deliveries of quality products.
- Apply resources to continuously reduce the cost to produce through the reduction of production scrap, reduction of waste, reduction of variation, and support of purchasing to reduce raw material and MRO item costs.
- Lead and motivate employees to exercise and maximize their full potential and deliver timely execution of action plans.
Other Responsibilities:
- Maintain equipment and facility effectiveness to support ongoing demand through appropriate reactive maintenance, proactive maintenance, and purchased services.
- Plan and develop operating system to optimize the use of resources for results, increase profitability for plant and improve productivity, quality and cost effectiveness.
- Support Director or Quality in all policies, procedures, and customer requirements.
- Recruit and retain employees, at all levels of the organization, to effectively execute the business plan; continuously seek improvement in their work, build strong teamwork and meet company goals. Align with HR in hiring, employee relations, and work rules.
- Manage policy deployment in the areas of lean manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures.
- Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate fast improvements and improved working relationships.
- Manage material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand.
- Determine operations head count needs and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Provide coaching and mentoring of employees.
- Identify, communicate and drive implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.
Requirements:
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field
- At least 10 years related working experience in production, engineering management and plant operations
- Preferred: Minimum 5 years of experience of departmental leadership in a rubber manufacturing plant
- Quality driven with good knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certifications
- Hands-on experience in process improvement & factory management from bottom to top
- Good knowledge of planning process of multiple products driven by commitments to customers
- Strong leadership, communication and management skills with experience in managing multi-discipline tasks
- Self-motivated, high sense of determination, responsible & results oriented with good interpersonal skills and high level of integrity and professionalism
- Possess excellent planning, negotiation and analytical skills
- Strong people management skills, presentation & decision making
- Sound technical skills, an analytical mind and strong communicated and interaction skills are important pre-requisites
- Computer literate with good knowledge of planning software and presentation tools
