What Makes a McKibbon Hotel Operations Manager?

This is a hands-on hospitality leadership role where the Hotel Operations Manager works closely with the Hotel Assistant General Manager and Hotel General Manager to oversee and guide the guest services operation of the hotel. Reporting to the Hotel Assistant General Manager General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for maintaining the highest level of ethical leadership to lead the property to achieve its business goals.

A Day in the Life:

  • You will be responsible for leading the overall performance of the property's front desk operations, including guest satisfaction, brand quality assurance, budget and labor.
  • You will supervise the day to day operations of both hotel's front desks and staff, including the supervision of shift closings, cash handling, and time & attendance.
  • You will be responsible for scheduling the Front Desk Department and adhering to company labor guidelines to ensure proper coverage.
  • You will train all front desk staff as it relates to brand and company standards to maximize service culture.
  • You will assist with sales and champion the Daily Sell Strategy.
  • You will assist with the implementation of front office programs to enhance the experience and provide leisure enjoyment for the guests.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining compliance and remaining up-to-date on new initiatives for the brand and company.
  • You will inspect and ensure that safety and security standards are being maintained.
  • You will support guest experience and satisfaction in all operations ensuring problem resolution.
  • You will conduct daily reviews of guaranteed no-show billing, guest ledger, and accounts receivables.
  • You will respond to all guest reviews including TripAdvisor, Google Alerts, Booking.com, Expedia, and Medallia
  • You will be responsible for overseeing the Market (fully stocked, weekly inventory, place orders).
  • You will assist the Executive Housekeeper as needed, inspect guest rooms and public areas.

Requirements:
  • Associates/Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3 years’ minimum experience in a hotel supervisor/managerial position
  • Experience with major hotel brands like Marriott, Hilton, or Starwood (highly desired)
  • The skills and experience to lead a team to consistently deliver exceptional guest service
  • Knowledge of local and state compliance laws
  • The ability to implement McKibbon procedures as they relate to cost control and inventory management
  • The ability to ensure that hotel policies and brand standards are consistently followed
  • Sufficient communication and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to develop the leadership qualities of all staff
  • The ability to maintain positive relationships with the management company, property owners, and clients
