Wholesale Know Your Client Operations (WKO) is part of Digital and Platform Services. The team supports JP Morgan's Commercial Banking and Corporate and Investment Banking clients. WKO consists of ~2,300 employees across 20+ countries and supports public and private corporations, Banking and Non-Bank financial institutions, Investment Managers and Funds.
Wholesale (Know Your Client) KYC and Client On-boarding is a strategic platform for the Digital and Platform Services organization. Wholesale KYC Operations is undergoing a significant transformation leveraging Artificial Intelligence. The team is striving to achieve our business outcomes or OKRs set through 2025. The most important outcome for the organization is the clients experience. This transformation will position our Wholesale Businesses to retain existing clients and gain new clients.
Role Description:
We are seeking a Managing Director level candidate to lead be our KYC Policy Business Initiative Lead (BIL) for the WKO organization. You will report directly to the Global Head of Client On-boarding and Documentation. You will be a part of the Client On-boarding and Documentation Leadership Team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter resource on Bank Secrecy Act/ Anti Money Laundering (BSA/AML) regulations, KYC, and account opening policies and procedures to interface with regulators as a part of exams and regular updates on the WKO program
- Be well-versed in KYC compliance requirements and have a strong background in compliance, risk, and controls in connection with financial institutions to adapt policies and procedures to risks of new products and services offered by the Wholesale Businesses
- Drive policy simplification efforts to ease the burden of KYC for our clients in partnership with our Senior Business Executives and Global Financial Crimes Compliance
- Represent WKO on the Global Financial Crimes Operating Committee
- Partner with Global Financial Crimes Compliance and the WKO leaders to solution complex issues surrounding client types and structures, financial products and services, and other KYC risk-related issues.
- Serve as senior escalation point of contact for Wholesale KYC for Global Financial Crimes Compliance
Required Qualifications Capabilities and Skills
- 15+ years experience in Operations Leadership Roles and KYC
- Experience in working in partnership with Operations management with a proven track record supporting large teams across multiple global locations
- Proven track record of effective leadership and ability to manage and effectively implement constant change.
- Strong ability to build relationships with and influence colleagues, business leaders and functional partners
- Confident communicator with ability to provide clear and succinct verbal and written updates
- Solid understanding of relevant statutory and regulatory requirements across the globe in relation to Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing to facilitate cooperative discussion with Global Financial Crimes Compliance and WKO team.
- Solid KYC industry experience with understanding of standards implemented in industry and well networked with industry peers
- Ability to lead, develop, coach, and motivate a dispersed team
- Consultative in approach, understanding and anticipating business partner needs and proactively delivering solutions
- Drives critical thinking and proactively seeks out best practices, anticipates clients' future needs and collaborates on ideas with others. Understands clients' needs and impact on relationship across J.P. Morgan.
- Ability to drive issue resolution, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute consistently on deliverables and communicate status updates and strategic direction to community
- Be accountable for building and leveraging a network of partners in the WKO organization to drive the overall success of the WKO model
- Be a highly motivated individual with advanced strategy, problem solving, and transformation as well as strong influencing, interpersonal and communication skills
