Position Summary:
The Engineer II (Systems) is responsible for assisting the Sr. Engineer to effectively design, implement, configure monitor, patch, back up, and maintain servers, storage, appliances, virtualization, systems, hardware and applications, both within the corporate network and cloud based environments. This position implements high availability solutions to ensure the resiliency and continuity of business systems and applications. This position acts as a liaison between the IT Infrastructure, Project Management, Software Development, Information security, and governance departments.

Essential Functions:

• Implementation of Linux and / or Windows based servers (Physical and virtual).
• Implementation of new applications, systems, and services.
• Ensure operational stability of technologies and services supporting the lines of business.
• Assists with troubleshooting to resolve complex problems.
• Perform system upgrades and patches.
• Assists with system monitoring and maintenance duties.
• Occasionally work evenings or weekends to facilitate solutions when necessary, (e.g. where downtime or deadlines demand).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary of Qualifications:

• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software systems.
• Experience integrating diverse systems and technologies.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and to meet appropriate deadlines
• Strong communication, collaboration and persuasion skills are required
• Ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information, in a manner consistent with essential job functions
• Adaptability: able to change projects to support business objectives, demonstrates a willingness and ability to accept additional responsibilities
• Familiarity with the banking industry regulations, specifically PCI and FDIC.

Desired Skills:

• VMWare Server Administration
• VMWare Horizon VDI infrastructure and end user administration
• Storage Administration experience, both SAN and NAS.
• Experience managing IIS servers.
• Experience managing Jira and Confluence, on premise or cloud
• Agile Project Management Experience
• Scripting knowledge: Powershell, Python, SQL or similar
• O365 – Azure AD, Exchange, including migrating from on-prem.
• Disaster Recovery Planning, Implementation, and Testing

Education and Experience:

• Three (5) years’ experience as a system administrator or similar technology field
• Associates Degree in an IT-related major or its equivalent experience required
