First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking an experienced, highly analytical, collaborative Operational Risk Officer to join our Operations Risk Team. This role is responsible to lead in the planning, development and implementation of all activities and programs associated with operational risk management for FHB under the direction of the Operational Risk Manager.

The key components of the Bank’s Operational Risk Department, includes:

  • New Activity Program
  • Risk Control Self Assessment (RCSA) Program
  • Fraud Management Program
  • Risk Assessments and Mitigation
  • Incident Root Cause Analysis
  • SOX Program

The successful candidate will be hired for the level of the position that aligns with their experience

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm (Hours may vary)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics, related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 3 years of experience in consulting, banking operation, business process improvement, accounting, audit or related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • Able to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve problems quickly.
  • Strong problem solving, decision making, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and background.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Access).
  • Financial services industry related experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with assessing and controlling complex operational risks preferred.
  • Accounting Control and financial disclosure systems experience preferred.
  • Information technology and project management experience preferred.
