Oregon Oncology Specialists is currently looking for an experienced, compassionate and caring Oncology Infusion Nurse to join our thriving, privately-owned practice.
We have openings in both our Salem and McMinnville locations
Position Overview:
The Oncology Infusion Nurse provides compassionate and professional direct patient care in our oncology clinic setting. A Oncology Infusion Nurse exemplifies proficient knowledge in the administration of cancer and hematology-related treatments, using up-to-date, evidence-based and clinically-supported safety guidelines.
Essential Job Functions:
- Administering medications, chemotherapeutic agents, biotherapy agents, analgesics, and hematopoietic growth factors to patients with cancer following age-specific guidelines and standards
- Assessing patient compliance with medications, treatments, and appointments
- Demonstrating competency in the performance of simple and complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as venipuncture, administration of IV fluids, and care of vascular access devices
- Evaluating the need for prescription refills, effectiveness of medication, or medication changes.
- Providing instructions and directions to patients and families on managing side effects related to disease process and related treatments
- Assisting patients in achieving the maximum level of functioning by coordinating with provider team for available resources in the community such as nutritional counseling, psychosocial counseling, medical equipment, and social service support
Required Qualifications:
- Registered RN (ability to obtain Oregon RN license upon hire)
- Basic Life Support certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Current proficiency in IV access of all types
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) within 24 months of hire
- Must be fully vaccinated (exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis in compliance with applicable law)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years recent RN experience in a patient care setting with heavy IV/infusion experience
- One-year experience in an inpatient or outpatient oncology clinical setting
- BSN preferred
- Current knowledge of chemotherapeutic agents, administration, side effect management and ability to assess patient learning needs.
- Current OCN
- Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certified
Position Highlights:
- No need to work nights, holidays, weekends
- Schedule could be 4 10’s 7:00 – 5:30, or 5 8’s
- Full time, no evenings or weekends required (may volunteer)

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42.10 - $61.43 per hour
