Job description

Currently hiring an oiler/rigger in Belle Chase, La. This position works loading and offloading ships and barges on the river.

The rate of pay is starting at $19 - $21 per hour. No per diem is offered; this is a potentially permanent position.

Requirements:

• Oversee the barge drafting on the river
• Work safety and efficiently with deck crew
• Must be able to operate winches
• Perform all duties of a deck hand
• Keep jobsite clean and organized
• Minimum of three years experience rigging up various loads for cranes
• Experience and knowledge of crane operations
• Good understanding of Occupational Health and Safety legislation regarding safety around crane operations and loads
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Responsibility for daily inspections, participating in critical lift planning, and safest practices
• Ability to function in a team setting working with other operators to fulfill the sites' needs
• When not rigging, workers are expected to assist in other areas when needed.
