TITLE: OHRA Center Lead Housekeeper

REPORTS TO: Facilities Supervisor

PART TIME: 30 hrs/week

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The OHRA Center Lead Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning duties, including laundry, that support day-to-day operations to ensure clean, safe and sanitary conditions in The OHRA Center and shelter guest rooms.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Housekeeper Job Responsibilities:

• Maintains inventory of cleaning chemicals, bedding etc.
• Relays ordering needs to Facilities Supervisor
• Performs housekeeping duties to include dusting, vacuuming, wet and dry mopping, glass cleaning, sweeping, emptying trash, detail and deep cleaning as needed, transporting trash to disposal area, replenishing restroom supplies, carpet and hard floor maintenance, etc.
• Uses cleaning equipment properly and efficiently: carpet extractor, floor scrubber, floor burnisher, wet/dry vacuum, etc.
• Properly utilizes cleaning materials and chemicals, ensuring safe storage and disposal; notifies supervisor of inventory needs.
• Keeps storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Performs duties safely and in compliance with standards, policies, and procedures.
• Maintains inventory of necessary supplies.
• Notifies supervisor of maintenance needs.
• Ensures that all laundry equipment is in working order and reports any issues promptly.
• Operates Commercial Washers and Dryers while doing laundry.
• Cleans all assigned areas, following clearly defined standards for quality and consistency.
• Maintains proper boundaries with guests.
• Consistently offers professional, friendly, and engaging service.
• Ensures housekeeping departmental standards are followed.
• Reports necessary maintenance items.
• Follows departmental policies and procedures.
• Follows all safety and sanitation policies

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs additional duties as needed.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Maintain excellent rapport with supervisor, staff, colleagues, volunteers, guests, community members and others.

REQUIRED:

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• Minimum one year commercial cleaning/housekeeping experience .
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Previous housekeeping experience a plus

• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and guidelines and to document basic information.
• Ability to work within time constraints and with limited supervision.

• Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper usage; working experience with commonly used housekeeping equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Light to medium industrial setting.
• Pushing, pulling, and lifting equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Walking or standing for long periods of time; bending, stooping, crouching, climbing as needed.
• Various environmental conditions (cold, hot, dusty, wet and possible exposure to blood borne pathogens).

Job Type: Part-time, 30hrs/week

Wage: $21.00/hour
