Position: Church Office Coordinator
Organization Overview: Winnetka Covenant Church (www.winnetkacovenant.org) is a Christian faith-based organization and is part of the Evangelical Covenant Church
(www.covchurch.org) based in Chicago, Illinois. The church has three full-time pastors, one full-time building manager and six part-time employees that lead church services and provide support to our community of 450 congregants.
Position Overview: The Church Office Coordinator provides information coordination service to the pastors and other staff, boards and committees, groups, and church members, reporting to the senior pastor. The Church Office Coordinator is the first “face” of Winnetka Covenant Church, both on the phone and in person.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Warm, friendly, welcoming personality
- Christ-follower with enthusiastic support for the congregation’s mission, vision and Guidelines for Loving Relationships
- Strong written and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Self-starter, able to multitask and prioritize projects
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Apple products
- General high school degree, or Equivalent, (e.g. GED); collegiate coursework/Bachelor degree preferred
- Office management experience preferred
Responsibilities:
Relational:
- Provide a welcoming presence to all who enter the building during office hours
- Maintain confidentiality
- Interact with outside groups which regularly use the church building
- Assist church volunteers with administrative needs
- Collaborate with social media/web page manager
Administrative:
- Filing, copying, ordering supplies, answering phones
- Maintain church member database
- Administer Memorial Garden
- Work with pastors to prepare worship bulletin
- Maintain and publish master church calendar
- Prepare Annual Report booklets
- Administrate sanctuary/altar flowers
- Prepare mailings to congregation (i.e. annual pledge cards, stewardship letter)
- Additional administrative duties as assigned or as they emerge
Financial:
- Prepare invoices for financial coordinator
- Process weekly giving, prepare bank deposit and deposit at bank
- Administer petty cash boxes
- Process and generate payment/reimbursement checks
- Prepare invoices and checks as needed, coordinate ACH (bill) payments
Media/tech:
- Collaborate with audio visual volunteers
- Upload church service to YouTube weekly
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year

Experience:
