Job description
General Function:
In accordance with the Christian principles of the YMCA, this summer position involves assistance with office work, filing, speaking with parents and managing paperwork. The Office Assistant helps with daily office tasks and manages camper forms.
Know How:
Belief in the YMCA Mission, set an example of high moral standards, Christian character and values.
An attitude of teamwork and enthusiasm of service to others.
Prior experience with children in camping or related youth work.
Prior experience with computer work, including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Power
Point, online data bases and generating reports.
Physical ability to cover entire camp grounds and participate in all camp activities.
Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid certifications.
Must be 19 years of age or older.
Principle Activities:
1. Attend applicable staff meetings.
2. Sort and distribute staff and camper mail.
3. Complete daily camper reports.
4. Maintain a clean and professional office environment.
5. Make check in and check out packets.
6. Have all tasks done on time and in an orderly fashion.
7. Work with our online camper data base, manage excel sheet and be able to print necessary reports.
8. During check in and check out sign campers in, speak with families, confirm forms are gathered and final payment is made before the camper is sent to their cabin.

The effectiveness of this position can be measured by an Office Assistant who shows an aptitude to assist and learn in an attitude of enthusiasm of service to others providing a positive image of Camp Cosby and the YMCA.
